Presidential Advisory Council meets

HEAD of State Hage Geingob yesterday convened the first Presidential Advisory Council meeting, where he apprised former Presidents Hifikepunye Pohamba and Sam Nujoma of his proposed action plan.
Geingob met the two leaders at State House, and used the opportunity to explain the progress his administration had made, the promise of prosperity and the way forward.
“During the last year, my team and I were hard at work developing an action plan for prosperity in Namibia. This plan is called the Harambee Prosperity Plan. I am confident that it will usher in the epoch of prosperity in Namibia,” he noted.
The President then presented the two former heads of state with copies of the Harambee Prosperity Plan behind closed doors.
“I want the plan to benefit from your wise counsel before it is finalised and released early next month at the State of the Nation Address,” he said.
The Harambee Prosperity Plan includes the introduction of a revamped basic income grant, commuter trains, apartments for civil servants, water and energy projects and infrastructure development projects which will cost billions of dollars.
Exact details of the plan have not yet been released.
The plan is expected to be similar to the Targeted Intervention Programme for Employment and Economic Growth and the mass housing initiative.
Geingob said his plan will complement the National Development Plans and Vision 2030. He said the plan recognises and builds on the success of Nujoma and Pohamba.
“The Harambee Prosperity Plan will be an acceleration or impact plan aimed at significantly reducing poverty levels, reducing inequalities and uplifting the living standards of all Namibians. It will not, as I noted before, replace NDP4,” he added.
The President said he is committed to building on the legacy of the two ex-Presidents and deliver on the promise to lead the country to prosperity.
Since his inauguration, Geingob said, he has been working reigniting the spirit of “one Namibia, one Nation”.
Geingob said he was also occupied with promoting a shared vision of a Namibian House, which he promised will lead to prosperity and economic transformation.

Chef de l'état hage geingob hier a convoqué la première réunion du conseil consultatif présidentiel, où il a informé les anciens présidents hifikepunye pohamba et sam nujoma de son plan d'action proposé.
Geingob a rencontré les deux dirigeants à la maison, et l'état de l'occasion pour expliquer le déroulement de son administration avait fait la promesse de prospérité et de la voie à suivre.
" au cours de l'année dernière, mon équipe et moi, on travaille dur à l'élaboration d'un plan d'action pour la prospérité en Namibie. Ce plan est appelé le harambee plan pour la prospérité. Je suis convaincu qu'il inaugure l'ère de la prospérité en namibie," Il a noté.
Le Président a ensuite présenté les deux anciens chefs d'état avec des copies du plan pour la prospérité harambee à huis clos.
