39 PARTIES D'OPPOSITION NIGÉRIENNES FORMENT UNE COALITION POUR DÉFAIRE
LE BUHARIUn important réajustement politique au Nigeria a eu lieu lundi, alors que 38 partis politiques de l'opposition et le Congrès progressiste progressiste (R-APC) ont signé un mémorandum d'accord pour contester les élections générales de 2019 sous une plateforme unique.
Ils ont convenu de travailler ensemble sous le nom de «Coalition des partis politiques unis (CUPP)» pour renverser le président Muhammadu Buhari.
La signature du protocole d'accord après une réunion au Centre Yar'Adua à Abuja est intervenue moins d'une semaine après que certains membres du Congrès All Progressif au pouvoir (APC), le parti de M. Buhari, aient annoncé la création de R-APC.
Le groupe dissident, dirigé par Buba Galadima, un ancien allié du président, aurait le soutien du bloc du PNDP au sein de l'APC.
Le PNDP comprend des membres du PDP alors au pouvoir qui ont fait défection à l'APC avant les élections de 2015. Parmi ses membres figurent le président du Sénat Bukola Saraki et le président de la Chambre des représentants, Yakubu Dogara.
M. Buhari a été critiqué pour sa gestion de l'économie du Nigeria, la plus importante d'Afrique.
Son administration a souligné que la lutte contre la corruption et les opérations militaires contre le groupe militant islamiste Boko Haram figuraient parmi ses réalisations.

39 NIGERIAN OPPOSITION PARTIES FORM COALITION TO DEFEAT BUHARI
A major political realignment in Nigeria took place on Monday as 38
opposition political parties and the Reformed All Progressive Congress
(R-APC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to contest the 2019
general elections under one platform.
They agreed to work together under the name “Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP)” to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari.
The signing of the MoU which held after a meeting at the Yar’Adua
Centre in Abuja came less than one week after some members of the ruling
All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Buhari’s party, announced the
formation of R-APC.
The splinter group, headed by Buba Galadima, a former ally of the
president, is believed to have the backing of the nPDP bloc within the
APC.
The nPDP comprises of members of the then ruling PDP who defected to
the APC before the 2015 polls. Its members include Senate President
Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu
Dogara.
Mr Buhari has come in for criticism for his handling of Nigeria’s economy, the largest in Africa.
His administration has pointed to the fight against corruption and
the military operations against Islamist militant group Boko Haram as
some of his achievements.
